common room reshuffle

It is with deep pleasure and satisfaction that the UWPhSA announces a grand reshuffling of the Common Room. Books, bookshelves and furniture have all been adjusted. More importantly, however, there is now a fully functioning floor lamp. Please feel free to use if so inclined. It does wonders.

2009-2010 Coordinator Announced

The University of Winnipeg Philosophy Students' Association is pleased to announce that Marc Kruse will act as Coordinator for the 2009-2010 school year. His term will begin 1 August 2009 and run for 12 months.

He takes over the position from Sasha Amaya, who acted as Coordinator during the 2008-2009 school year.

Pacific University Conference

April 2009

Congratulations to UW philosophy student Kajia Eidse-Rempel, who recently presented at Pacific University's Undergraduate Philosophy Conference in Forest Grove, Oregon. Her paper was titled "On Abortion".

Greek Champion

Congratulations to UW philosophy/classics student Joseph Gerbasi who recently placed first in the Classical Association of Canada's 2009 National Junior Greek Sight Translation Competition.
